Emily Austin Perry: A Texas Legacy, CTGS Program

About this event

Join us for a special living-history program as Marilyn Judy brings to life Emily Margaret Bryan Perry-better known as Emily Austin, sister of Stephen F. Austin. Emily forged her own path with determination and intelligence. Far from the stereotype of a delicate southern lady, Emily cultivated a self-reliant spirit that enabled her to manage family responsibilities, vast property holdings, and eventually the immense estate left to her by her brother. Discover how Emily Austin Perry navigated a world shaped by men and carved out a legacy of her own-one that continues to influence Texas history today. This program offers a unique opportunity to explore genealogy, women's history, and the complex stories behind one of Texas's most influential families. This event is co-sponsored by the Central Texas Genealogical Society.
