- ➤ Waco ISD Superintendent Tiffany Spicer was named a 2025-26 superintendent to watch by the National School Public Relations Association for her leadership and clear communication as she launched the district's strategic plan. She will be honored at NSPRA's national seminar in July in New Orleans. KCENTV
- ➤ Baylor University announced its School of Education will be renamed the Moody School of Education following a $30 million gift from the Moody Foundation — the donation will support scholarships, faculty research and academic expansion. KCENTV
- ➤ Sheri Burns stepped down as South Bosque Elementary principal after a leave for an issue not related to students; interim Sarah Holland and returning Assistant Principal Laura Christian will lead on Monday Jan. 26. Parents meet the new team Thursday Jan. 29 from 5 to 6 p.m. in the library. KXXV

HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Residents in Waco can prepare for winter storm outages by gathering supplies like batteries + flashlights and securing their homes. The Multi Purpose Center, now serving as a warming center, opened Friday at 8 p.m. and will operate until Tuesday at 11 a.m. KXXV
- ➤ Fire and emergency management officials warned residents to avoid dangerous heating methods amid approaching winter weather and possible power outages, urging them to use fireplaces safely, run generators outdoors, and use space heaters correctly (with carbon monoxide detectors installed) while advising check-ins on elderly neighbors.
