- ➤ Waco ISD trustee Keith Guillory will step down from his at-large position on May 2 after announcing his resignation in a Feb. 2 letter to Superintendent Tiffany Spicer. Waco Tribune-Herald
- ➤ Waco ISD students sharpen their news literacy skills today in a video production class led by Will Burney (a local educator). They learn to verify sources, question headlines, and spot AI-generated content to tell real news from misinformation. KXXV
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Explosives will level 100 wind turbines (action led by Engie North America) near Mart as it replaces the Prairie Hill Wind Farm with more efficient models. The replacement process will extend into 2027. Waco Tribune-Herald

- ➤ Brookview Hills shopping center on Bosque will get a major facelift with Escapology preparing an escape room and AutoZone set to replace the old Luby’s, while Scoopy Doo has a unique plan in the works + further details will be announced soon. Waco Tribune-Herald
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Local student athletes signed their letters of intent on National Signing Day from Midway to Killeen today. The signings cover sports such as football, baseball, and track, with athletes committing to colleges like Harding University and University of Texas at San Antonio (25 sports being tracked). KXXV
- ➤ Baylor beat Colorado 86 to 67 at Foster Pavilion on Wednesday night as Tounde Yessoufou scored 27 points to lead the Bears to a 45 to 21 halftime advantage. They will travel to Ames Saturday at 1 p.m. CT to face Iowa State. KCENTV
