  • Restaurant owners met on Tuesday, Feb. 10, at Jorge’s Cantina to hear Texas Restaurant Association leaders discuss rising credit card fees and immigration enforcement challenges affecting local restaurants. They urged legislators to support new regulatory changes + fair competition with the cottage food industry.  KCENTV

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Baylor University is launching a parking pass option for $5 per day in a temporary lot that was once owned by a local church before it is redeveloped into student housing. The system offers an alternative as parking permits sell out — though some students say the cost feels high.  KXXV

  • After firefighters responded to eight grass fires Monday, Hill County declared a disaster and imposed a 7-day burn ban to curb fire risks (Bell County recorded 67 fires this week amid dry, windy conditions).  KXXV

  • Baylor lost to No.22 BYU 99-94 Tuesday night in Waco as Tounde Yessoufou scored a record 37 points (the highest by a Baylor player against a ranked team) while the Cougars built a big lead in the second half; Baylor will play No.24 Louisville Saturday at Dickies Arena.  KCENTV
