COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Chapel Park in Waco will get a new splash pad and pavilion through a $744K contract that updates park facilities, with work planned to improve the space for community use.  Waco Tribune-Herald

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Waco ISD approved a charter contract with Third Future Schools to operate South Waco Elementary and Dean Highland Elementary as early as August to avoid a state takeover, following consecutive failing ratings. Teachers and staff may apply to join Third Future or transfer within the district (details pending).  KXXV

SPORTS NEWS

  • Waco Soccer Club is working to bring back local men’s soccer and create a pathway for players after high school. The club plans to hold community events this year and begin play in the 2027 season.  KCENTV
