- ➤ Waco has sought a $5.7 million federal grant approved by City Council on Tuesday to fund its wastewater reuse project that will supply treated water for industrial users including a Graphic Packaging plant set to open later this year with a 1.5 million gallon-per-day need. Phase 1 work is underway at the Central Wastewater Treatment Plant on Treatment Plant Road—helping reduce the use of drinking water during drought—and additional funding will support later phases.
