CULTURE NEWS

  • Waco will host the 75th National Square Dancing Convention at the Convention Center June 24-27 — over 3,000 international dancers will join the festivities, and hotel blocks have been reserved to support downtown businesses.  KCENTV

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Waco ISD is exploring a virtual education program under Senate Bill 569 that would let students statewide enroll (bringing in the same funding as in-person students). The district will present a proposal in April and plans to launch the program in fall.  KXXV

HEALTH NEWS

  • Hillcrest's new service dog Celie (named for her gentle nature) helps patients recover by making regular visits that ease stress at the care facility.  Waco Tribune-Herald
