  • Mission Waco announced its Jubilee Food Market, a non-profit in North Waco, will close on March 31 due to increased competition from new grocery stores and online delivery.   • Waco 107-year-old Maxine enjoys her daily Meals on Wheels visit for both a meal and friendly conversation—funding cuts have reduced meal deliveries from 114,000 in 2023 to 66,636 today and halted new referrals for the service.  KXXV

  • Two people died and a mother was hospitalized after a head-on crash on TX-14 near Groesbeck late Friday at 11:23 p.m. when one car drove the wrong lane—officials confirmed that John Moss, a long-time Child Protective Investigator, was among those killed—and the investigation remains active.  KCENTV

  • Waco Family Medicine consolidated its three clinics and two dental offices effective March 24 to address financial challenges from restrictive Medicaid policies and rising healthcare costs — the change moved patients to the new Central and expanded Tom Oliver S. 18th facilities and cut staff by 7% with support for those affected.  KXXV
