EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Baylor University confirmed a small number of international students had their visa statuses changed in the federal SEVIS database, which risks their ability to stay in the country and finish school. The university said it is working closely with each affected student—providing legal assistance and support as the situation is monitored. KCENTV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Texas House passed House Bill 1393 on April 16th, which proposes that Texas use daylight saving time year-round and end twice-yearly clock changes — the bill still must get Senate approval, the governor’s signature and federal consent to become law. KXXV
- ➤ At a Tuesday Senate Committee hearing, Sen. Bob Hall testified in favor of a bill that would ban any form of fluoride added to public water supplies so Texans can choose for themselves.
