- ➤ At a hearing in 54th District Court, Zachary McKee was ordered to remain at Kerrville State Hospital on the anniversary of AT&T technician Kenneth Cleveland’s death—officials reviewed that his April 2016 attack involved stabbing and arson and determined McKee still poses a threat to others. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Carver Park Baptist Church’s youth mime group, started last year by youth minister Darius Brown, performed at Baylor University’s StompFest on April 12 and won $700 when their gospel mime routine was entered as a dance competition—showing their strong teamwork and devotion. They recently performed at Easter service and will have their first out-of-town show in Bell County—continuing a creative ministry that brings teens together in faith. Waco Tribune-Herald

- ➤ Waco ISD named Charles Foster as head football coach and athletic coordinator at University High School, and he began his role Tuesday, April 22—he previously served as defensive coordinator and led the team to its first seven-win season since 1995, replacing Kaeron Johnson who returned to Baylor University.
