- ➤ Two men broke into Hardware Junky on Speight Avenue near Baylor campus early Saturday morning and stole nearly $10,000 in merchandise—security cameras captured the break-in as the owner began repairs and contacted his insurer and landlord. KXXV

- ➤ Preliminary figures showed that McGregor's industrial tax base dropped over one-third, with appraised values falling more than $100 million (city values declined 33% and the school district 45%), and local officials are questioning the assessments.
