- ➤ An investigation found that sex trafficking victims in illicit massage parlors — including in Waco where Deputy Scaramucchi recorded five rapes — are often punished for prostitution while authorities focus on the owners instead of helping the victims. Waco Tribune-Herald

- ➤ Jesus Rivera completed his mural Dignidad at the South Waco Community Center (2815 Speight Ave.) this week, featuring over 30 influential Mexican and Chicano figures. - ➤ The Heart of Texas Comic Con will take place in Waco on May 3-4 at the BASE at Extraco Events Center — drawing fans to meet celebrity guests, browse vendor booths, join gaming sessions and see a unique Itasha car show. - ➤ Developer Larry Jackson proposed a Planned Unit Development near Buena Vista Park that would let him build 63 single-family homes on 40-foot lots—more than the 46 homes allowed under current 50-foot rules—to keep prices affordable for first-time buyers in Waco.
