EDUCATION NEWS

  • Jennifer Martin has been named the new fine arts director for Midway ISD, returning to Waco from Fort Worth ISD. She will lead the district's arts programs with fresh energy.  Waco Tribune-Herald
  • Waco ISD board voted 4-2 Wednesday to choose Everett Phipps, an employee at Insurors of Texas, as its new at-large Place 6 trustee. The board expects his appointment to bring fresh expertise to local education.  Waco Tribune-Herald

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Belton residents served by Dog Ridge Water still face boil notices and outages despite new management, and General Manager Rudy Watkins said parts and weather delays hinder repairs while the utility plans to apply for grants to replace 2,145 meters by summer (if $1.1 million is secured in two weeks).  KXXV

HEALTH NEWS

  • Waco Wellness Festival returns Saturday at Northern Gateway Park from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with free fitness classes, wellness vendors, and motivational speakers—a program designed to help kickstart healthy routines.  KCENTV
