  • Caso do Brasil, which started in College Station, opened its doors Tuesday downtown, making it Waco's first Brazilian steakhouse. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Alice Rodriguez ended her nearly 30-year service on the Waco City Council as she did not seek reelection in today’s vote; her leadership included projects like an inclusive playground and various community improvements. Principal Isabel Lozano, who was mentored by Rodriguez during her final term, will be sworn in as the new District 2 council member on Tuesday—her appointment marks a new chapter in local government.  Waco Tribune-Herald

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Texas Department of State Health Services confirmed 683 measles cases since late January, mostly in West Texas—hospitalizations have reached 89, and two unvaccinated children died from complications. Officials say fewer than 10 cases are actively infectious—Texans are urged to update vaccinations to help slow any further spread.  KXXV
