EDUCATION NEWS

  • Cybersecurity experts and Baylor officials said Canvas access was briefly lost Friday after a cyberattack disrupted final exams across the country, including at Baylor. They urged students and parents to update passwords and enable multi-factor authentication — a step to secure personal data for upcoming tests and ceremonies.  KCENTV
  • Baylor announced $35 million in budget cuts over the next two years, leading to some layoffs. A Baylor spokesperson said there have been no mass job cuts so far.  Waco Tribune-Herald
  • Waco ISD is easing teacher turnover this year by reassigning staff from two elementary schools outside district operations and offering extra support for teacher certification; the changes aim to stabilize staffing for upcoming classes.  Waco Tribune-Herald
