- ➤ Kaleb Blain, founder of 86 Hunger Waco (named for kitchen slang for 'to cut'), has been serving BBQ and essential supplies to unhoused residents every Wednesday since February to fill a midday resource gap. He plans to recruit more local groups and eventually open a pay-what-you-can restaurant locally. KCENTV
- ➤ Shepherd's Heart food pantry will merge with Central Texas Food Bank after founder Bob Gager celebrated his 80th birthday with a skydiving event (joining CTFB President Sari Vatske); the fast-tracked merger aims to boost food access in our community. Waco Tribune-Herald
- ➤ Fuzzy Friends Rescue in Waco features this week's Perfect Pets: Winona, a calm 1-year-old Basenji mix who loves to chase leaves, and Derby, a lively 3-month-old Domestic Shorthair kitten full of energy. - ➤ Waco Family Medicine received a $9,200 grant from the Texas Bar Foundation to support its Medical-Legal Partnership that helps patients with legal issues affecting their health. The program, run with Greater Waco Legal Services, serves around 80 patients a year through coordinated referrals at its central clinic. KCENTV

- ➤ Waco youth rowers Roman Sykora and Elijah Gilmore will head to Nationals in Sarasota June 11-14, making history as the first from their club to compete at the national level. Their families will join them as supporters (a milestone for the community). KXXV
