- ➤ On Saturday, a powerful storm swept through Whitney and tore the roof off the Chamber of Commerce — heavy rain and high winds knocked down trees and power lines — and local crews and residents are cleaning up the debris. KXXV

- ➤ Waco restauranteur Chris Cady is fixing up the old Twin Peaks building to open Tia Juanita's Fish Camp. He plans to serve Mexican, Cajun and Creole dishes while hiring 150 to 200 people, with the restaurant set to open on July 14. Waco Tribune-Herald
