- ➤ Moody resident Jazzmine Oliver, a longtime animal advocate, is urging city leaders and neighbors to solve a loose dog problem in her community—she is working with the Bruceville-Eddy Police Department and asks residents to speak up at upcoming city council meetings. KXXV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Carolyn Price, an 83-year-old lifelong educator and community leader, became Baylor University’s oldest known doctoral graduate over the weekend — overcoming challenges such as a dog accident, the loss of her husband, and a home fire. She will officially receive her degree on Saturday. KXXV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Texas lawmakers passed House Bill 186 with support from both parties that will ban minors from creating social media accounts and require age checks to download apps—affecting sites like Twitter, TikTok, Facebook and Snapchat—and let parents ask companies to remove an account within 10 days. The measure is expected to take effect by April 2026. KXXV
- ➤ Texas Gov. Greg Abbott signed a bill that created the Central Texas Water Alliance to manage water resources and plan regional infrastructure. The alliance brings together local water providers from Bell, McLennan, Lampasas counties and other partners + aims to secure a long-term water supply and support regional economic growth. KXXV
- ➤ After Gov. Abbott signed SB—1194 into law, the Central Texas Water Alliance will manage water operations and distribution across central Texas counties and coordinate water supplies for the region. KCENTV
