- ➤ Bridge Sanctuary near Robinson cares for 27 horses and is fighting for its survival today as donations drop nearly 75% amid rising gas + hay prices. Owner Margaret Ransom said she fears the sanctuary may close if costs continue to rise. KCENTV
- ➤ Danny Moseley runs Feeding Mouths, a local mission where he catches catfish each Wednesday to provide meals for homeless residents around town. He also accepts donations of clothes and supplies to help support those in need. KXXV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ TxDOT crews closed all east and westbound lanes of New Road under I-35 from 7 p.m. Thursday to 7 a.m. Friday to place beams on the northbound side; drivers on frontage roads followed detours via Primrose Drive and Loop 340 while local businesses felt the drop in customer flow. KXXV
- ➤ Texas A&M researchers and Bryan fire officials are working to address fire risks as data centers expand amid the AI-driven boom; they are studying large battery systems and implementing early safety plans across central Texas. KXXV
- ➤ Cipher Digital has proposed a data center project near Riesel, and McLennan County Commissioner D.L. Wilson said he was approached yesterday and will share updates on any planned town hall meeting (which will let locals ask questions) as more details are available. KXXV
