ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A rescue team pulled four people to safety early Thursday morning on *Waco Creek* at *S. New Road* as heavy rain fell across the region.  KXXV
  • Rescue teams from Waco Fire responded at 6:11 a.m. Thursday when a white four-door pickup got stuck in a 40-foot wide low-water crossing near McGregor (at McGregor South Loop and Indian Trail) and provided mutual aid to McGregor Fire.  KXXV
  • Emergency crews responded early Thursday morning on Highway 36 near Morgan’s Point Resort when a vehicle rolled over multiple times and a driver was rescued and taken to Baylor Scott & White for evaluation—officials said wet conditions likely contributed to the crash.  KCENTV

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Heavy rain in Waco on June 12 caused over 110,600 gallons of wastewater to overflow from several manholes—city workers dechlorinated and tested the water for safety. City officials said they will increase monitoring of the water supply—residents are advised to avoid contact with spills.  KCENTV

  • Waco has selected longtime firefighter Robby Bergerson as the new fire chief—his appointment will be submitted to City Council for confirmation on June 17 and he brings nearly 28 years of service to the role.  KXXV
