- ➤ Texas lawmakers are considering raising the business personal property tax exemption from $2,500 to $250,000 to support small businesses as part of House Bill 9 and Governor Abbott’s small business initiative. - ➤ Waco officials are inviting residents to review and comment on the city's plans for $2.04 million in federal housing grants from HUD for the upcoming fiscal year. The plan allocates funds for home rehabilitation, roof repairs and rental assistance with public-comment periods open until July 17 and a public hearing scheduled for Aug. 5. Waco Tribune-Herald
