Local artists are painting legacy murals in the new Waco High School as a tribute to the school’s history ahead of teacher move-in in three weeks.

Will Suarez leads work on a 32-foot mural at the Colcord Avenue entrance—showing the lion, ram and tiger mascots from three high schools that formed modern Waco High in 1986.

A downtown plaza on 7th Street between Austin and Franklin is being revitalized to add interactive murals, new lighting, and upcycled furniture to boost foot traffic for local businesses.
