ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Heavy rains caused flash floods in central Texas Friday that killed six to ten people and left at least 20 girls missing from Camp Mystic. Rescue teams using helicopters and drones are still searching for survivors as more rain and flooding are forecast for Waco — residents near the Guadalupe River are urged to seek higher ground. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Waco college administrators are reviewing the federal spending bill passed last Thursday to determine how its changes to Pell Grants might affect over 5,000 local undergraduates. Officials from Baylor, TSTC and MCC plan to study the bill further and will work directly with students on any new requirements—an effort that comes as local schools join nationwide evaluations ahead of the holiday weekend.
