- ➤ Blue, a dog that went missing from Corpus Christi during Hurricane Harvey in 2017, was found today at a bathroom in Cameron Park and returned to her family after a microchip-enabled scan at the Pet Circle Regional Animal Center. KXXV

- ➤ Filmmaker Jordan Ochel debuted Healing Hands on Friday, July 18th at 8pm at the Performing Arts Community Center — a film that explores a deaf boy's struggles to fit in and sparked discussion at the Waco Independent Film Festival, which runs until Sunday, July 20th. KXXV
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Waco has seen its wettest July since 1976 with more than 6¼ inches of rain recorded at the airport, so the Corps of Engineers is reducing dam releases from Lake Waco (dropping from 7,400 to 1,200 cfs) and other reservoirs to lower river levels. Rivers are set to remain in action stage while some lakeside parks remain closed until the waters recede. Waco Tribune-Herald

- ➤ On July 4, the Waco Fire Department deployed an engine company & a four-person crew to Kerrville to support emergency operations after catastrophic flooding, with Lieutenant Neil Cummings and Engineer Travis Brown joining search and rescue efforts along the Guadalupe River. The team integrated with local responses as part of the Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System. City of Waco
