- ➤ Waco will host the 2025 Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Saturday, October 11 — FOX 44 is sponsoring the event. Harbor Hospice community education coordinator Casey Tusa visited the studio to share details about the walk’s aim to raise Alzheimer’s awareness. FOX 44

- ➤ On Monday at 3:39 p.m., McGregor police evacuated homes and businesses on North 3rd Street after a resident found a Mark 2 hand grenade in a storage building he purchased, prompting the McClennan County Sheriff’s Office bomb squad to confirm the device was inert — officials said it posed no explosive threat. FOX 44
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The City of Waco announced that Lake Brazos water levels will rise through Friday, July 25 due to releases from Lake Waco, Aquilla, and Whitney Reservoirs. The city will then lower the lake by two to three feet during system maintenance through early August—officials warn that water levels may change quickly without notice. KXXV
