- ➤ A new baseball and softball complex is planned for 25 acres off Gholson Road in Chalk Bluff—developers plan to build up to eight fields for local athletes while some neighbors worry about increased traffic and noise. The work will begin once the permit process is complete. KXXV
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Waco deputies arrested contractor Andress Sellman for spending $58,948 meant for a home on personal items (including clothing and vehicle expenses) and she posted a $20,000 bond before being released while investigators continue to look into additional victims. FOX 44
- ➤ Three Waco teens were arrested after cameras and witnesses tied them to more than six thefts and burglaries of Kia cars in early February — the affidavit said the break-ins targeted several vehicles. Waco Tribune-Herald

- ➤ On July 17, construction crews shifted I-35 northbound traffic into two of the southbound lanes for about three miles in southern Waco after rain delayed the project milestone. Waco Tribune-Herald
- ➤ Cooper and his parents visited Fire Station #12 earlier this week where the fire crew praised his interest in firefighting+ and noted his official chief outfit that hints at a bright future.
