- ➤ Waco Police announced on Thursday that preliminary autopsy results show drowning as the cause of death for a 39-year-old woman—found in a minivan pulled from the Brazos River on Monday—with no foul play suspected. Waco Tribune-Herald

- ➤ Waco police revealed that Consuelo Bernabe drowned after her Dodge Caravan was pulled from the Brazos River on Aug. 21—final autopsy results remain pending as the investigation continues with no foul play suspected. KCENTV

- ➤ The Waco Fire Department promoted two veteran firefighters to Deputy Fire Chief after a badge pinning ceremony on Aug. 18 — Max Breese will lead Emergency Operations while Philip Burnett will manage Administration and Long-Term Planning. - ➤ The old Regal Theatre will be converted into the Warrior Fieldhouse — a multi-sport complex that will offer baseball, softball, basketball, volleyball, soccer, and strength training for local youth.
