CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Waco Police arrested a Killeen man Wednesday after he hit a woman with an SUV while she fought his girlfriend in January — leaving her with serious leg injuries. Waco Tribune-Herald
- ➤ A Waco woman used a hidden camera to catch three intruders burglarizing her home Tuesday while she was at the doctor with her sick child—police said. Waco Tribune-Herald
- ➤ Waco police arrested two suspects after a high-speed chase on S. 18th Street ended near Dallas Circle—officers stopped a blue Ford Fusion following a gunfire exchange, though four persons fled and two remain at large, including a 17-year-old La Vega basketball player. KCENTV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Waco city manager Bradley Ford resigned after eight years of service and said he will step down in February to focus on family needs and balance his work life—he submitted a six-month notice of resignation. The city has not yet announced plans for his replacement. KXXV
- ➤ TxDOT announced it will remove the northbound I-35 bridge over New Road in Waco as part of the My35 Waco South Construction Project. All lanes on east and westbound New Road and the turnaround under I-35 will be closed from Sept 12 at 7 p.m.—to reopen by 7 a.m. on Sept 15, with detour routes in effect. KCENTV
