- ➤ The McGregor Chamber of Commerce hosted a homecoming mum contest where local businesses competed by creating large mums that celebrated a cherished Texas tradition—The Vibe boutique won with a design that took seven days while neighbor Kelly Smith crafted over 50, including one measuring 9 feet by 4 feet. The contest brought the community together and highlighted local creativity. KXXV
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Killeen woman Shewanna Strickland found a spot on her mammogram and was later told she had triple negative breast cancer that went from stage 2 to stage 4 before she fought it with strong treatment. She went through chemotherapy, a mastectomy, radiation, and immunotherapy until August 20 — and she is now cancer free while urging early detection. KCENTV
