- ➤ A Mexico-based beverage company will build a $220M production plant in Waco—set to get $9.3M in local economic incentives over 15 years. Waco Tribune-Herald
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The City of Waco began routine water system cleaning on October 20 and customers may notice a slight change in water smell and taste as free chlorine replaces chloramine—this step is taken to clear buildup in pipes and will finish on November 17. The water remains safe to drink and its normal flavor will return when cleaning is complete. KXXV
- ➤ On Oct. 20, city officials in Waco held a public open house to showcase early plans for the Barron’s Branch redevelopment project which includes floodplain remediation, infrastructure upgrades, and a new riverfront public plaza—residents expressed both interest and concern about design and historical preservation. City officials will host a Waco Walks tour on Saturday, Oct. 25 to highlight the project and gather additional public input. KCENTV
