- ➤ Today, Waco Restaurant Week starts and will run until November 1, featuring over 50 local restaurants, bars, and coffee shops plus popup events including a Dia de los Muertos parade at Indian Springs Park. KXXV
- ➤ Pickleball is growing at the Waco Regional Tennis and Fitness Center where neighbors join events with a $10 fee for non-members, including a Newbie Social today from 6-8 p.m.—the center also offers a Halloween Social on October 29 and an Intro to Pickleball Clinic on November 12. KXXV

- ➤ McLennan Community College formally opened its new $5.2 million Cameron Hall Tuesday — built on the hilltop site of the William Waldo Cameron family’s summer house. The modern facility now serves as a space for learning and campus activities. Waco Tribune-Herald
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The ongoing federal shutdown has forced the Waco Housing Authority to implement a hiring freeze and training cutbacks to prepare for funding disruptions that may affect hundreds of residents relying on housing assistance. It spends $2 million a month on these programs with funding secured through December—raising concerns that if the shutdown continues into January, residents could face housing instability. KXXV
