- ➤ The Texas Veterans Commission awarded nearly $650,000 to four local Waco groups through its Grants Across Texas program — funds provided by the commission’s Fund for Veterans’ Assistance. Waco Tribune-Herald
- ➤ The Waco City Council honored McLennan County Veterans Service Officer Steve Hernandez today by proclaiming Steve Hernandez Day during its regular meeting to recognize his service to veterans. Waco Tribune-Herald
- ➤ Today, local groups observe Veterans Day with a ceremony at TSTC’s Col. James T. Connally Aerospace Center at 11 a.m.—several businesses offer free meals and discounts for veterans and active-duty military.
