- ➤ KCEN 6 News will partner with Communities in Schools for the annual Shoes 4 Kids Drive from Nov.15 to Dec.15 to collect new shoes and socks for students in need across Central Texas. A support day on Nov.19 will be held at two sites, including a Walmart in Waco—offering community members a chance to donate. KCENTV
- ➤ Waco Habitat for Humanity is building a new home—its 22nd project under the Raise the Roof partnership—with the city as work continues on the project to create affordable housing. Waco Tribune-Herald
- ➤ Thousands of parade participants celebrated Veterans Day in downtown Waco Tuesday as the city held its largest annual tribute to military service from past and present, and locals joined to honor their veterans. Waco Tribune-Herald

- ➤ Valley Mills voters rejected two school bonds with 56% voting against Proposition A and 62% against Proposition B (the bonds would have raised taxes to fund school improvements). Valley Mills ISD will seek other options to support safety and learning needs. KXXV

- ➤ Keating Resources will buy the former Owens-Illinois glass plant on Beverly Drive — the 1 million-square-foot complex will remain intact and be marketed for warehousing and manufacturing. Waco Tribune-Herald
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Ellison sophomore quarterback Marlyn 'Batman' Smith threw for 342 yards and 4 touchdowns and rushed for a score on Friday night to lead the Eagles to a win that forced a share of the district title. The team will face Richmond Randle on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the playoffs — a critical test for the squad. KCENTV
