- ➤ 6 News—partnering with Communities in Schools of Central Texas—is running a shoe donation drive to collect new or gently used shoes for at-risk students and help lift their confidence in the classroom. Donors dropped off about 500 pairs on Nov 19 at drop-off sites in Killeen and Waco, and the drive will run until Dec 15. KCENTV

HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller and the Texas Department of Agriculture warned horse owners after veterinarians confirmed cases of Equine Herpesvirus Type 1 following the World Championship Barrel Racing Finals held in the Waco area from November 5—9. Owners are advised to monitor horses for signs such as fever and nasal discharge and take steps like isolating affected animals and disinfecting equipment to slow the virus’s spread.
