  • Ripley's announced it will invest $1 million to upgrade three Hawaiian Falls parks including the one in Waco— the company recently spent $12 million on a golden toilet, a move that highlights its focus on distinctive attractions.  Waco Tribune-Herald

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Waco Fire Department will roll its Holiday Cheer Fire Engine through neighborhoods starting November 28 and running nightly from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m. until December 22 — the first stop is in the Kendrick neighborhood where residents can meet firefighters and take photos.  KXXV

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • A new affordable housing project for seniors will add 296 units on Airport Road with amenities including a clubhouse, gardens and dog parks—developers plan to break ground early next year and complete it in 18 to 24 months to meet a critical housing shortage.  KXXV

SPORTS NEWS

  • Softball teams in Axtell competed in the Tournament of Giving on November 22-23 as part of a community food drive—nearly 3,300 food items and over $500 in cash were collected and will go to Helping Hands of Belton.  KXXV
