- ➤ Staff and volunteers at Waco's Pet Circle Regional Animal Shelter prepared Thanksgiving meals on Nov. 25—serving 154 animals and community cats bowls filled with meat, carrots, corn and mashed potatoes. In addition, the shelter offered a $5 Black Friday adoption deal and foster opportunities while ensuring every pet is spayed/neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. KCENTV

- ➤ Waco residents Matt Shane and Todd Monsen saved a life when Monsen donated a kidney to Shane on May 17, 2023 after meeting at church. Both men have since recovered and enjoy returning to athletics—competing in Ironman relays and biking tours as they encourage others to register as organ donors. KXXV
