Good morning, Waco.

Lorena mother Jessica Montez is fighting for better downtown accessibility after cracked sidewalks make visits risky for her 16-year-old wheelchair-bound son Cameron — she organized a walk and filed a federal complaint to urge the city to fix zero lot line issues.

Kim Tucker, the Tennyson Middle School band director, will march + play in the Rose Parade on New Year’s Day, giving her students a unique live look at a local leader in action.

City offices, libraries and transit services will follow modified schedules over the holiday week.

Waco facilities will close on Dec. 24 and 25 and on Jan. 1 while select stores open with adjusted hours—residents should check local listings to plan holiday errands.
