ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Bell County farmer Robert Fleming said his century-old farm has changed with thousands of solar panels now on nearby land—raising concerns over water runoff, erosion and property values. He said Senate Bill 819 will require community input and environmental reviews for larger solar projects, but Bell County is still accepting new solar applications under current rules—despite the booming energy market.  KCENTV

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Texas House Bill 3157 (allowing interim rate hikes) would let utilities raise electricity rates before regulators finish reviewing the hikes, and critics say the change could lead to higher bills for Waco consumers if overcharges are not fully refunded.
